When you’re a beauty business owner, or business owner of any kind, self motivation is really
important, but it can also be really tricky. However, self motivation can be really easy to understand when put simply.
We have put together three examples of how others motivate you, and what the self-motivation
comparison of that would be.
Motivation Example One:
A person goes to work every day to a job that they don’t enjoy, so they can pay their bills, keep a roof over their head and their family – they are motivated by others.
However, a person that needs no external forces to make them go to work each day and someone that finds fulfilment in what they do are self motivated.
Motivation Example Two:
A person is given homework to do and they only do it when they are continually reminded by
parents, other students and teachers who nag, punish and continuously remind them – they are motivated by others to do their homework.
However, a person that completes their homework themselves because they want to learn more, succeed at school, college or university and success in their future career is a self motivated person.
Motivation Example Three:
A person that will only go to the gym when their friends are going too and their friends literally have to drag them to the gym is not self motivated, instead they are motivated by others.
However, a person who packs a gym bag in their car or sets the alarm early so they can go to the gym, whether they are going / persuaded by friends or not is a person that is self motivated.
Having read these examples, what sort of person do you think you are?
Are you self motivated or do you need ot
hers to motivate you?
It is important to note, however, that you can be self motivated in some areas, but motivated by
others in different areas. Why not book in for a coaching session with us to see how you are self
motivated and how this helps you as a business owner.
