Chances are that if you are reading this blog post, you are not feeling very motivated. You may know you have lots to do, but just don’t feel motivated to do it. You could give yourself 3 small tasks that need to be done by the end of the day, or even set yourself a treat like a cup of tea or chocolate biscuit, but only when you have completed each task. It’s okay to reward yourself as a way of self motivation.
Make sure these mini-goals that you set yourself are still realistic – we all have some days when we are not as motivated as other days, so on these days set smaller goals and targets.
Take the time to enjoy the company of motivated, enthusiastic and supportive people that may or may not be in the same position as you. This could be people you meet at networking, other
business owners, friends and family or even a business coach or business mentor. These people will help you get your spark back and feel motivated to carry on.
Work on your optimism and resilience. Things won’t always go perfectly when you run your own
business but if you can create a more positive mindset then you’ll be able to deal with setbacks in a better way, which will reduce the negative effect on your business and motivation.
